What to Expect

The Natural Hair Care Symposium, curated by Sworls Hair Care Company on June 14, is a community event for parents and guardians of children from JK through high school. Sworls is hair care brand created by hairstylist from Unbeweaveable Hair Salon, inspired by her professional experience working with textured hair and her passion for supporting families with curls and coils.

The symposium is designed to provide practical education on textured hair care, scalp health , and hair positivity. Through expert-led sessions and interactive discussions, attendees will learn about curl care routines, protective styling, and common scalp conditions, along with tools to build healthy and confident hair habits at home.

The symposium is structured into four educational tracks designed to give parents practical, real- life tools for caring for textured hair. 

❋ Care & Routine

Focuses on understanding curl patterns, building simple weekly hair care routines, and learning how to maintain proper moisture and product balance at home.

❋ Styling & Protection

Covers safe protective styling practices such as braids and locs, reducing tension, school-friendly styles, and proper nighttime hair care. 

❋ Scalp Health

Explores common scalp conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis, along with guidance on gentle care, ingredient awareness, and when to seek professional support. 

❋ Hair, Culture & Confidence

Highlights the connections between hair, identity, and self- esteem, while helping parents support positive language, break generational myths and build confidence in their children.

Together, these sessions create an informative and supportive space that blends education, culture, and practical solutions for everyday hair care.
